Obviously,the goal of each technology updating is to improve previous flaws.But have you ever think about it,this process never stops since began hundreds of years ago. Now let’s take several types of bulbs in projectors for example,which is called light source as well.
1.UHE lamp as a light source. Although we may say it had been out-of-date due to its long history, bigger size and common figure but still widely used in many famous brand such as Benq, Epson and so on.
Let’s take a look at its advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages: Excellent performance in brightness which can present a brighter picture, show a high degree of picture display. At the same time, the brightness of UHE Lamp after using for a long time is not easy to decay, which is a big issue in the industry.
Disadvantages: the bulb life is short, then comes much higher replacement frequency, virtually will increase the cost of consumables for users. Due to the high heat of the bulb, it takes 15 minutes to start the projector twice, otherwise the bulb will be damaged easily.
2.Using the LED lamp as a light source, as we’ll know the brightness is not easy to decay, followed a longer service life; smaller size than UHE lamp;as long as four or five years without replacing the light source;And smaller energy consumption required, low heat, all in all, users can save electricity expenses. Which is good for our modern society as well.
Disadvantages: because the power of LED itself cannot reach a high level,the brightness will be lower than UHE lamp accordingly,need one more process to improve the projection brightness through technology.
3.Laser light source, which has a long life, basically does not need to be replaced, reduce the cost of consumables at this aspect. The picture presented by the laser light source is very pure in color, but also has a higher picture brightness. And the overall power consumption is still low, which can be said to combine the advantages of UHE lamps and LED light.
Disadvantages: the laser light source is harmful to the human eyes, need to do a good job of protective measures, and the cost of laser light source is much higher, users need to spend more money.
All in all,the aim of new technology is not only to replace traditional ones, it’s targeting at meeting the needs of more people for technology,in other words, since there isn’t a perfect art work, let’s create some to make supplement. After all,human invented the technology, technology reshaped us vice versa, so it promoted the development of society.That is all!
